Chair of Governors and Co-opted Governor
I am Chair of Governors. I became a co-opted governor in September 2017.
I’ve lived in Maidenbower since 2008 with my wife and two children. Our youngest is in Year 1 and our eldest went through the school too. I have been teaching Science for 20 years with 10 of those at Oriel high school and am now a teacher at a school in Reigate. I hope to bring my years of experience in education to help support the superb work already going on at the Brook Infant School.
In my spare time you might find me riding my bike around Tilgate forest or in the park with the family.
Vice Chair of Governors and Coopted Governor
I am a co-opted Governor, having joined in February 2020. My eldest child has been through the school and my youngest is currently in Reception.
Brook Infant School has been amazing for my Son, and I want to do all I can to support the children and staff, and take involvement in the way the school is run.
I am a solicitor practising in property disputes at a Surrey law firm, TWM Solicitors LLP. Much of my work involves problem solving, which I hope may come in helpful in assisting the Board.
Headteacher and Staff Governor
I am Mrs Cox and I am Headteacher Governor. I become a governor when I joined the school in September 2019 as Headteacher.
I have been in education for many years, training many years ago in Early Years and I have come to Brook Infant School and Nursery having previously been a Headteacher and most recently an educational consultant. In my consultancy role, I had the privilege of spending time in hundreds of different schools and worked with leadership teams to develop and improve schools in a way that focused on the children. Throughout my career, I have been and continue to be passionate about child centred education and have a deep understanding of how children learn.
I am proud of our school as it truly is a place where children learn with love and laughter. Creativity oozes out of every part of the school and from day one I have felt like I belong.
On top of being a Headteacher, I am a mother to two gorgeous boys and can be found on many occasion watching them play cricket.
I am a Staff Governor who joined the Governing Body in January 2017.
I have been a teacher at Brook Infant School since qualifying in 2011. The Brook is such a wonderful school where everyday really is full of ‘love and laughter’. Whilst changes to the curriculum in recent years have bought new challenges for teachers, I am committed to ensuring that, at Brook Infant School, we never lose the creativity which flows through our veins.
I joined the Brook Infant School governing body as a Co-opted Governor in 2019.
I am enjoying the neighbourhood, here in Maidenbower since 2016 along with my wife and daughter who has just turned 21-month-old. I work as a consultant in Finance & Technology transformation area for over 14 years, qualified as a Chartered Accountant and currently am a self-employed practitioner in an Accountancy firm ‘CoreAdviz’.
I would like to make a positive contribution to the children’s career by exchanging professional expertise and enabling development tasks of school organisations executed smoothly with combined support from local communities’ skill, resources and enthusiasm.
Hi I was born, brought up and educated in Crawley and I have been a governor at Brook Infant School since September 2020. I am a shipping litigation lawyer in the City and the proud mother of two boys - one of whom is at University and the other is doing his A levels. I hope to bring my analytical skills to the Governing Board as well as my drive for high standards of equality, diversity and inclusion.
I am passionate about education and firmly believe that every child deserves to be taught by those who care and want to bring out the very best - I believe I have found that with the Headteacher and staff at Brook Infant, who have impressed me with their passion and care for each and every child at the school. It is a privilege to be part of such a hardworking community.
I became a Co-opted Governor in October 2020 and have children in Year 2 and the Nursery. Brook Infant School went above and beyond to help us settle when we joined mid-year and we quickly experienced their wonderful culture and that they truly live their school ethos.
I am delighted to be a governor. I am a Finance Director in the charity sector and have also run my own businesses, I hope to be able to draw on my skills and experience to help the school and its students thrive.
Clerk to Governors
I am Clerk to Governors at Brook Infant School and Nursery. I started here in 2008.
Before I became Clerk I used to work in London as a PA to a large Accountancy firm. I left this role to have my children who are now 19 and 16.
I love working at the Brook Infant School and Nursery and being part of a great school with amazing children and staff.
